- Weigh-in will be 3 times a year, March, June, & September. Must contact an officer if you wish to weigh other than these three designated dates. Weights are good for three months. You will pull on your most recent weight. If you go to another club and weigh in, those weights stay at that club. Entry fee ($21) is due at scales. If you weigh and don’t pull on non-scheduled weigh-ins, you still pay entry fee.
- No alcohol inside pulling arena.
- Must pull 6 ft in one pull.
- Decisions regarding arguing will be at the discretion of the officers and committeemen.
- Can only pull pony in one class and classes are rotated light up or heavy down.
- Cruelty to animals will not be tolerated and ponies must be under control at all times.
- All participants must be members and membership dues are $10/year.
- Cannot hold double tree up. If double tree hits ground during pull, pull is over and inches are counted.
- All teams must be calcuttaed, if no one buys the team it is automatically given to the club.
- Men working scales weigh in no earlier than 15 minutes before weigh-in time and no one can weigh their own ponies in. Only officers and committeemen can weigh ponies.
- Height limit for ponies, no more than 54 inches, allowing 1 inch for shoes.
- Money will be paid back at the discretion of the officers and committeemen. 15% Calcutta belongs to club.
- Rules will not be changed throughout the year.
- Unlimited help to sled, only 3 men inside ropes. When pull begins, men are to be behind double tree & headman must be out of the front of ponies. Interference to keep ponies off ropes will not be allowed. Bit man must turn ponies lose. Anyone can call on ponies when pulling.
- Slide moves flag to flag. Committeemen may decide prior to pulling to spot slide. One pull after slide is spotted. Everyone must pull in same direction. You cannot unhook during a pull except for a breakdown. Cannot straighten slide unless you rope. If driver calls on ponies after rope is called, he is disqualified for the day.
- Jumping double tree and drop hooking is allowed.
- Ropes are set @ 9ft for lightweight, 10 ft for Middleweight, and 11 ft for heavyweight. 9ft and 11 ft for 2 classes.
- Can unhook to fix breakdown, rope overrules breakdown.
- You can level dirt in front of tongue for the first pull only.
- Measuring tape will be on measuring rod.
- May change driver at any time.
- Bridles must be on at all times.
- Pony of the Year: First Place-6, Second-5, Third-4, Fourth-3, Fifth-2, and Participation-1. Accumulation ends the pull before championship, if tied; it will be broken by pony that has pulled the most times during the season. Points begin @ Tator Day. Points stay with the pony during the year.
- Special rules for special events will be announced prior to event.
- The only voting members at the annual business meeting are those that participated at the pulls at least 50% of the time. That includes pulling, judging, heading and loading the block at the pulls. This meeting is designed for voting members only.
- Number of teams per class is at the discretion of the officers and committee.
- Kid’s class is for ages 12 and under and they must drive their own team.
